70,000 Books Found in Hidden Library

Today is World Storytelling Day. It's a great day to get out your favorite
book and read a story. Where do you keep your favorite books? Most people
keep them on a bookshelf at home.

There's a man in Germany who collected 70,000 books! Where would you keep
that many books? No bookshelf is that big!
有一個德國人擁有七萬本書！這麼多書要放哪裡？

Bruno was an engineer who lived in a small village. He was a quiet guy who
loved one thing. He loved collecting books. Every day, Bruno would buy a few
more.
Bruno 是工程師，喜歡收藏書本，每天都會買幾本新書。

Soon there were too many books. They were everywhere, filling up his whole
house! His wife told him to do something.
家裡很快就推滿了書，他的太太叫他想想辦法。

So Bruno used his engineering skills. He built bookshelves everywhere in his
home. From down in the basement to up in the attic, every room had books.

Now there are books on the walls and books on the doors, books by the windows
and books on the floor. Bruno even made special shelves. Why? There are books
on the ceiling too! His home is like a library!

Sadly, Bruno has now died. Where should his books go? His wife doesn't want

Floating Toilets for Floating Villages

Ahh! That's better… now I need to wash my hands!

Toilets are great! They take our germs away. That helps us to be healthy.

Without toilets, people can get very sick. But toilets cost money. Some
people don't have money for a toilet.

In Cambodia, there's a big lake. It's called the Tonle Sap. It's the biggest
fishing lake in the world!
柬埔寨的洞里薩湖，是全世界最大的漁業湖泊。

About 100,000 people live on the Tonle Sap. They live in floating villages.
They have houses and schools. But they do not have toilets. The lake water is
very dirty.
洞里薩湖上住了大約十萬人，他們住在漂浮村落，村子裡有房屋跟學校，但是沒有抽水馬桶，所以湖水很髒。

The people there are very poor. They use the lake water for everything. They
use it for cleaning.They use it for cooking.Some use it for drinking. That

A company wants to help these people. It wants them to use floating toilets!

These floating toilets are called "HandyPods". HandyPods clean the dirty
toilet water. They help make the lake water safe.

Now there are 100 HandyPods on the Tonle Sap. The company wants 200 more

Taiwan Ranked Happiest Country in East Asia

Narrator: Good morning! That woman is so happy! Hmmm... How happy is everyone
in Taiwan?

There is a big group of countries. It is called the United Nations. Some
people call the United Nations "the UN".
United Nations 聯合國，它是一個由很多國家組成的組織，英文縮寫是 "UN"。

The UN makes a list. It shows how happy countries are. This list is the
"World Happiness Report".

The UN makes the list every year. It takes a long time. The list is not easy
to make. The UN has to be fair.
聯合國每一年都會製作一份「世界幸福報告」，看看每個國家的人有多幸福。

The UN looks at many things. Do people feel good? Do they have a family? Do
they have friends? Do people have jobs? Do they have money? Do they feel
free? Can people get help? Do they think their country is good?

This year's World Happiness Report lists 137 countries.

The report says Taiwan is the happiest country in East Asia! The three
happiest countries in East Asia are Taiwan, Japan, and South Korea.

Finland is the happiest country in the world. Finland has been the happiest

Italy Wants to Keep its Food Safe

Ah! Italy…

Italy is a country. It's in Europe. It has a long history. It has a great
culture.

The Romans lived there two thousand years ago. They made beautiful statues,
temples, and other things.

We can see many of these things in Italy today. They are very, very old! But
Italy keeps them safe. They are important to Italian people. These things are

Taiwan's Newest Rescue Team

Guess what?! I have a new bike! I love it! It's shiny and new, and purple and

Taiwan has many beautiful cycle routes. They let you see mountains and
forests and the ocean… They have made Taiwan famous all over the world for
