Free Trip to Jail

I haven't been on a vacation in a long time. How about you? Well, how would
you like to stay at a brand new place in Switzerland for free!?

Sounds pretty sweet, right? But wait, there's a catch. The trip is free, the
place is new, but… it's a jail. And you'll be an inmate.
聽起來很不錯，不用旅費、住的地方是新的，但是那是一座監獄，而且你要當犯人！

That's right. The Swiss jail wants volunteers to help them test out the jail
before it opens for real in April.
這座在瑞士的監獄要在四月開始用，他們想先找人自願住看看。

The volunteers will even be treated like inmates in some ways. They'll enter
the jail like inmates, eat the food that the jail serves and they'll be given
exercise time. Oh, and they can't bring in any cell phones or other
electronic devices either.
自願去住監獄的人，要吃監獄的食物，也會像犯人一樣有運動時間。他們也不能帶手機或其他的電子用品。

The stay will only last a couple of days and volunteers have a safe word that
they can use to leave the jail if they've had enough of being locked up.

But who would want to do this? Well, lots of people. Over 800 people applied
for this free stay in jail!

Bear Keeps Lost Boy Safe

Have you ever gotten lost? Have you ever been in a place where you did not
know how to get home?

Well, let me tell you, it is a very scary feeling. It is even scarier if
you're all alone.
迷路很可怕，尤其是只有你一個人的時候。

This is what happened to a three-year-old boy named Casey in the United
States. He was playing outside his grandmother's house, when he went a little
bit too far into the woods.
美國有個叫做Casey的三歲男孩，在外婆家外面玩，結果他跑進了森林裡面。

And he was lost for two whole days! That's a long time to be away from home.
Casey's family was very worried about him.
他在森林裡走失了整整兩天！他的家人非常擔心。

Thankfully, somebody was there to protect Casey … a wild bear!

Casey met a wild bear while he was lost. Bears are usually very dangerous,
and people should not go near wild bears if they see them.

But this bear kept Casey warm and safe until people found him.

The bear did not hurt Casey. And even though Casey was very cold and very
hungry, he was healthy when he returned home.

70 Years on the Throne: Queen Elizabeth II

United Kingdom, or the U.K. for short, has a queen. And guess what? She's
been queen for 70 years!

First Black US Supreme Court Judge

A judge is a very important person. A judge makes decisions about important
things, like new laws.
法官要做出很多判決。

But there is one group of 9 judges in America called the 'Supreme Court'.
They make all the final decisions.
美國最高法院有九位大法官，負責做最終的判決。

They are the top judges in America.

For a long time, only men were Supreme Court judges. But that's not fair,
right? Women should be judges too!

Taiwan Celebrates Its National Day

Hi students! Today is a special day for Taiwan. It's Double 10 Day, also
called Taiwan's National Day.
今天是雙十國慶！

October 10th in Taiwan is a day of parades. Military jets fly over people's
heads. And at night, people get to see great fireworks.
今天會有遊行、戰鬥機表演，還有煙火秀！

Almost every country in the world has a national day. There are only two
countries that don't have a national day. One of those countries is Denmark.
The other is Great Britain.
