Popstar Jay Chou has maintained his iron-grip on the top spot as the highest-earning singer in Taiwan so far this year.
According to the latest tally from the Apple Daily, Chou banked $790 million NT this year, coming ahead of second place Wang Lee-hom, with $630 million NT.
Wang is fast making up ground after taking a break from using his voice last year; the singer was injured after accidentally inhaling insect repellent, leading to swelling and bleeding in his throat.
Wang’s managers have assured his worried fans that the musician is fully recovered, and his earnings seem to agree.
Rounding out the top five is Jam Hsiao at $530 million NT, Jolin Tsai at $430 million NT, and Show Luo with $420 million NT.
