Episode Description

Last year more than four million people visited Taipei’s National Palace Museum, which houses one of the world’s largest collections of Chinese imperial artifacts.

These visitors came from all over the world and to make the collection more accessible for foreign visitors the museum offers free tours in English. In this episode we speak  with one of those volunteers, Jeraldine So, about what it takes to present the treasures of the museum to an English speaking audience.

You can learn more about the museum here. And here’s the page to go to if you want to reserve an English language guided tour for yourself.

This is totally unrelated to today’s topic, but our guest also happens to run a cake shop in Taipei that specializes in cupcakes. So for those of the opinion that Chinese imperial artifacts pare well with a good cupcake, check out her shop here.
