With the number of Chinese visitors plummeting, many hotels and restaurants are offering big discounts at the 2016 Taiwan Culinary Exhibition, which runs from August 5th to 8th in Taipei.
Organizers say while the trade show aims to display the art of Chinese cuisine, they are hoping to generate business opportunities for hoteliers as well.
The Ambassador Hotel chain’s voucher, sold at 3,500 NT per night, is for redemption at any one of its five hotels in Taipei, Taichung and Kaohsiung.
The LDC Group, which operates Palais de Chine hotel and Chateau de Chine chains, also sells hotel vouchers at 2, 499 NT.
Organizers say visitors to the exhibition, located at Taipei World Trade Center Hall One, will find even more bargains at the hotels’ restaurants.
There are cooking contests, cooking demonstrations and food tasting during the four-day event as well.
Admission is 180 NT per person if you buy it now at convenience stores island wide. Admission at the door costs 200 NT per person.
