With the Rio Olympics around the corner, Chunghwa Telecom is ready to offer live broadcast services of the Games on Movies-on-Demand, or MOD, and Chunghwa Video.
Chunghwa Telecom says starting from the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games, which is scheduled in the early morning of August 6th Taipei time, Elta TV on MOD will broadcast different events non-stop on 14 channels.
Aside from 3,000 hours of broadcast, there will be 500 hours of programming stored in MOD’s Video-on-Demand (VOD) section for those who can not make it in time to watch the games live, according to the telecom company.
In addition, viewers can also watch the Games on chtvideo.hinet.net, a website that’s available on computers and mobile devices.
But they need to register as Chunghwa Telecom’s members before gaining access to chtvideo.
Meanwhile FTV has announced it will join the broadcasting of the Rio Olympics on its four channels, including one terrestrial channel, during the Games.
FTV says it will focus on the performances of Taiwan’s 58 athletes there and cover basketball, volley ball, and golf, among others.
The 2016 Rio Olympics runs from August 6th to 22nd.
