tiqff Taiwan international queer film festival

A short film about an Italian vampire and his encounter with a Taiwan taxi driver has won the top prize at the 2015 Taiwan International Queer Film Festival.

“The Thrill,” by local director Hou Chi-ran grabbed the Taiwan Queer Shorts Award’s “Thong Award” at the festival Sunday in Taipei.

The film is a part of “Taipei Factory II” — a three-part film co-produced by the Taipei Film Commission and Italy’s Rai Cinema.

The movies comprises three 30-minute shorts by local directors in collaboration with Italian actors, covering the genres of thriller, romantic comedy and drama.

The Taiwan International Queer Film Festival moves to Taichung this week and is in Gaoxiong next week.

It is showcasing around 100 feature-length and short films.
