Local media reports Tuesday, that American actor Leonardo DiCaprio is reportedly in Taiwan for the filming of Martin Scorsese’s movie “Silence,”.

The Hollywood star is said to be on site at Niushan Huting, a guest house and private beach area in coastal Hualien, which is known for its aboriginal art decorations.

Reports have confirmed that Niushan Huting is closed until March 10th for film-making purposes, as indicated by a sign at the entrance, but DiCaprio’s presence could not be verified.

Officials from the film’s Taiwan distributor says DiCaprio is suppose to be shooting in Canada for another film at present.

Scorsese and his film crew were photographed at a restaurant in Hualien in February last year when he made a discreet eight-day trip to Taiwan to scout filming locations for the movie “Silence.”

The film also made headlines earlier this year, after a fatal accident on its set in Taipei.

The cast of “Silence” also includes “Taken” star Liam Neeson, and “The Amazing Spider-Man” star Andrew Garfield.
