Taiwanese tennis player Chan Hao-ching and her Belarusian partner Max Mirnyi advanced to the finals of the Wimbledon mixed doubles Saturday, displaying the best performance ever by the young athlete in a grand slam event.

Chan wrote on her Facebook page, “It’s very happy to advance to the finals in Wimbledon. I’ll be more focused and play better tomorrow, since the game is not finished yet.”

Additionally, Chan thanked her fans for their support and constant cheer on the court.

Chan, 21, is the only Taiwanese player remaining in this year’s Wimbledon. This is her third appearance at the world’s oldest tennis tournament.

Describing Mirnyi as an excellent player, Chan said that she first teamed up with the 37-year-old at the French Open and has since developed a camaraderie with him.

Mirnyi also praised Chan, as a young and promising player with great potential, and said he was very happy to share his experience with her.
