Taiwan-based singer-songwriter Wang Leehom said he will donate all 261,000 NT garnered from the auction of a music score he wrote for his wedding to a charity organization.
Wang wrote the 6-minute Wedding March for his bride Li Jinglei when they got married in 2013.
He put the original score, with his signature, up for auction on online shopping website Tao-bao for five hours on Monday to raise funds for China Charities Aid Foundation for Children.
According to a local newspaper, a great many fans bid for the work during the five hours. The winning bid was $52,201 RMB, the equivalent of $261,000 NT.
Wang said he appreciated his fans’ enthusiasm and hopes that more people will help improve the plight of orphans and handicapped children in China.
