Ocean Takes Family Car

Do you like beaches? They're fun! You can swim in the ocean. You can relax on
the sand. You can watch the sun go down. But be careful! Don't park your car
by the ocean!

That's what a family did. They drove to Waipu Beach in Miaoli around five
p.m. one day. They parked their two cars on the beach. Then they went and had
fun!
有一天有一個家庭開車到苗栗外埔海灘，他們把兩台車停在海邊，就去玩了!

They forgot about the ocean tides! At high tide, the ocean's water goes up
three or four meters in Miaoli. At low tide, it goes down. A dry place on the
beach can be underwater a few hours later.
他們忘記海水會漲潮。外埔海攤漲潮的時候會上升3或4公尺。退潮的時候會下降。在短短的幾個小時內，海邊乾燥的地方就會被海水淹沒。

The family had fun ... and the water went up! Then the cars were IN the ocean!
這個家庭玩得很開心，但是不久後海水漲潮，他們的車就泡在海裡。

The family and other people pushed and pushed the cars. They saved one car.
But it was too late for the other car.

The water didn't go down until the next morning. The family waited to get

American Astronaut Stuck in Space

NASA is the USA's space agency. Its job is to learn about space. But space is
very big! It has millions and billions of planets, stars, moons, and many
other things!
美國太空總署NASA的職責是了解外太空。廣闊的太空有億萬顆行星、恆星、衛星，還有很多其他的東西!

NASA sends people into space. These people are called "astronauts".
Astronauts help us learn about living in space.

Dr. Rubio is an astronaut. NASA sent him into space for six months. But then
… a space rock hit his spaceship!
Rubio博士是一名太空人。NASA派他到國際太空站6個月。但是有一顆太空岩石打到了他的太空船。

After that, his spaceship didn't work well. So Dr. Rubio had no spaceship to
fly home in! He had to wait for a new spaceship from NASA. But NASA didn't
have a spaceship ready yet. Dr. Rubio had to wait six more months to go home.

Dr. Rubio said being stuck in space was hard. He wanted to see his family and
friends. He was stuck in space for 371 days. That's longer than other US
astronauts! He set a new record by accident!

Wearable Robot Helps Runners Go Faster

We use machines all the time. Here are some ways. We drive cars. We send
texts on phones. We watch videos on TVs, computers, and tablets.

Some machines copy what people do. These machines are called "robots".

Moving Stairs for Mountain Views

Walking for thirty minutes every day is good for you. It can help you be

Man Will Ride Bike Across the South Pole

What is the loneliest place in the world? It's somewhere very few people
live. Maybe it’s Antarctica! That’s the cold, snowy place around the South
Pole.
這世界上最寂寞的地方在哪裡呢? 應該是南極洲，那裡很冷、而且滿地都是雪。

Omar Di Felice wants to ride his bike all the way across Antarctica. He tried
to do this last year. But he stopped after one week. He felt too lonely. His
family needed him too.
