Taiwan wants 20 million visitors a year by 2030

Narrator: Wow, there are so many people! 人山人海!

A lot of people must have come to watch the parade!

A parade is when a lot of people walk together down the street in celebration.

Do you know why there is a parade today?

To celebrate October 10th - Double Ten!

Double10 - 雙十節 - is another name people in Taiwan use to say October 10th.

What's so special about the date of October 10th?

October 10 is Taiwan's National Day.

And every year, on this day, many people come to the Presidential Building to
watch the parade. 雙十節遊行很熱鬧!

There will be music, marching, and a lot of people waving the National flag.

And guess what? Important politicians from Taiwan and other countries will be
there too!

Even the president will be there to watch the parade!

It's a huge celebration! 國慶日要盛大慶祝!

And we have a lot to celebrate.

And there are so many cool things too!

We have beautiful rivers and mountains.

We also have great food! Especially at the night markets.

We have delicious food like stinky tofu, bubble milk tea, and mango shaved
ice desserts! 這些美食，你最喜歡吃哪一個?

Everyone wants to come visit Taiwan.

你不相信嗎?

Well, according to the government, over 10 million people from other
countries visit Taiwan every year.

很多吧!

So many people come here because it's such a great place to visit!

And guess what, we might even get more people to visit.

The government hopes the number of people visiting Taiwan will double by the
year 2030.

That means in about 10 years, there might be more than 20 million people
visiting Taiwan a year!

I can't even count that high! 兩千萬外國遊客，數都數不完呢!

I hope there's going to be enough room for everyone!

Eco-friendly Legos

Do you think about whether your toys are bad for the environment?
你有想過，玩具可能會傷害環境嗎？

When you don't want your toys anymore, do you give them to other people?

Or do you throw them in the garbage? 不要的舊玩具，你會送給別人? 還是丟掉?

Do you think about what happens to them when you throw them away?

If your toys are made of plastic, they might stay in the environment for a
very long time.

This is because plastic takes a very long time to break down.

And that is bad for the environment. 塑膠玩具很難分解，對環境很不好。

Do you have Legos at home? 你家有樂高積木嗎?

Legos are made out of plastic. But guess what?

The company that makes Legos is trying to make the toys safer for the
environment. 樂高就是塑膠做的，現在他們想要用一些對環境好的材料

The Lego company says they are going to try to make Lego bricks that are made
out of natural things, like sugarcane.

Sugarcane doesn't hurt the environment if you throw it away.
樂高公司決定要用甘蔗來做積木，丟掉也比較不會傷害環境。

The company also wants people to give their old Legos to other people to play
with. 舊的樂高不玩了可以送別人

So if you have Legos that you don't want anymore, don't throw them away.

Protect the environment, give them to other people instead!

Taiwan's Karaoke Taxi

Do re mi fa so la ti do. Oh sorry… I'm just practicing my singing.

I like singing when I'm at home and when I go to karaoke with my friends.
我喜歡在家裡或去KTV唱歌。

But I'm too shy to sing in front of people I don't know.
我很害羞，所以不敢在大家面前唱。

But here in Taiwan, one man wants to help people to be brave and just sing!

The taxi driver will record videos of customers singing for his YouTube

Painting Lost at Airport Found in Trash

A man in Germany forgot something that was incredibly valuable at the
airport. It wasn't his wallet or a little bit of money.

He lost a very, very expensive painting!

How does a person forget a painting?!

The painting was very expensive. It was worth over 8.4 million Taiwan
dollars! 價值超過台幣850萬！

Of course, when the man arrived back home, he realized he forgot his very

He tried to call the police to help him find it.

find it.
