Dolls Made for All Kids

Playing with dolls is fun. You can make dolls dance, jump, and fly!

One girl loves dolls. And she has a dream. When she was younger, she was
sick. She was in the hospital a lot. She met kids with disabilities there.
有一個女孩喜歡玩娃娃，她小時候常常生病跑醫院，在醫院遇到很多有身心障礙的小朋友。

Some kids used wheelchairs. Some had arms without hands. Some had a new leg.
But they didn't have dolls that looked like them.

She wants kids to have dolls that look like them... and move like them! She
wants dolls with disabilities and without disabilities! She thinks they can

The Solar Eclipse and Citizen Scientists

Have you heard of solar eclipses? The moon goes between the sun and the
Earth. The moon blocks the sun for a short time.
你聽過日蝕嗎? 當月球運行到太陽跟地球中間，太陽會被月球的陰影遮住一段時間。

During a total solar eclipse, the moon blocks all of the sun. But we can see
the sun's corona. It's the fuzzy white circle around the dark moon.
日全蝕是月亮完全遮蔽太陽。但我們還是可以看到日冕，是暗黑的月球周圍一圈白白、模糊的光。

The sun's wind, the solar wind, comes out of the corona. The solar wind is
very strong. It affects the Earth!
太陽風從日冕射出，它是個很強的能量會影響地球。

There was a total solar eclipse on April 8th. People saw the eclipse in a
line from Mexico to Canada. It was four minutes in each place on the line.

Scientists wanted to get pictures of the corona from many places on the line.
But how?

They got help from citizen scientists. These people aren't scientists. But
they get information for scientists. They took many pictures of the corona.

The scientists made a ninety-minute movie with these pictures. The movie
shows them changes in the corona and the solar wind!

Ring the Fish Doorbell

Have you seen fish swimming in a river? A city in the Netherlands has a river
where fish swim. From May to the end of June, they swim to find places to lay
eggs. But there's a gate in the river.
你看過在河裡游泳的魚嗎?荷蘭有一條河從五月到六月底都會有魚通過，準備找地方產卵，但是這條河有個閘門。

The gate opens for boats. Fish can go through at the same time. But when
there are no boats, they have to wait... and wait… and wait. Sometimes
hungry birds find them.

So a scientist made a fish doorbell! But fish don't ring the doorbell. People

These Astronauts Will Make History

The universe is big. It's very, very big. And every day, every hour, every
second, it gets bigger!

There's a lot to learn about the universe. There are millions and billions of
places in it! Scientists are learning more about it all the time!

Some scientists explore the universe with telescopes. Others use robots that
take photos. And some brave scientists travel to space! These brave
scientists are astronauts.

Only American astronauts have walked on the moon. But that's going to change!
Space travel includes more people now.

Today we have a serious talk about Taiwan getting recognized for trying to
stop criminals from making money.

We have a story from the United States president, who says he could be
meeting with the leader of North Korea for a fourth time.

And we hear about how Taylor Swift has a really nice dad.

Taiwan to Top Anti-Money Laundering Review Category 台灣在洗錢防制上名列前茅

Taiwan will be added to the list of countries with the best anti-money
laundering 洗錢防制 practices in the world.

"To launder" means "to clean," like cleaning your clothes, but here it means
to make illegal money look like it is legal.

Taiwan's Anti-Money Laundering Office says an inter-governmental organization
跨政府組織 against money laundering recently approved of Taiwan after
checking the government's practices.

"Inter-" means "between," and you can hear it in the word "international"
國際.

According to the Anti-Money Laundering Office, that approval should
officially 正式地 put Taiwan in the most favorable category.

"Official" here means other people believe Taiwan now has good anti-money
laundering practices.

Taiwan's government workers say the change should happen in about six weeks,
after the Asia/Pacific Group on Money Laundering officially finalizes 審定
the decision.

"To finalize" means to end the discussion on a certain topic and make a
decision.

Trump Says He'll Likely Meet North Korean Leader Again
川普說可能會跟北韓領導人再度會面

US President Donald Trump says he'll probably meet again with North Korean
leader Kim Jong Un.

At the meeting, they will talk about Pyongyang's nuclear weapons 核子武器
program.

The two leaders have met three times before, in Singapore, Vietnam, and at
the Korean Demilitarized Zone 南北韓非軍事區.

North and South Korea need a demilitarized zone because the two countries are
still officially at war.

The U.S. and North Korea haven't reached an agreement for Kim Jong Un to give
up 放棄 its nuclear weapons.

"To give up" means to stop trying to do something and leave it alone.

North Korea has recently been testing more rockets 火箭.

Trump says he's not happy about the tests.

Taylor Swift's Dad is a Good Guy 泰勒絲的老爸是大好人

Taylor Swift's dad is a really good guy.

Taylor was doing a big performance to announce the release of her latest
album in New York.

She was doing a free show where she sang three songs, two from the new album,
Me! and You Need to Calm Down, and one from her old ones, Shake it Off.

Free, 免費, means you don't have to pay for something.

To get places in the free concert, fans of hers were camping out overnight to
make sure they got in.

Taylor had brought her parents with her for this performance, and they saw
the fans waiting outside, and they were astonished that people were waiting
like that.

So her dad joined in with her aides who were handing out pizza to the fans
for them to eat.

He also gave them some special guitar picks made for the music's release.
