Kaohsiung American School is officially opening their new sports complex today, marking another milestone in the southern Taiwan school’s goal of building an eco-friendly campus.

This latest addition to the school facilities includes a 6-lane swimming pool with an adjustable bottom, tennis, basketball, volleyball courts, a dance studio, and a dining hall.

In line with KAS’s goal to create a environmentally responsible campus, the infill for the new field is cork.

The all-natural materials are water-soluble, free of potentially harmful chemicals, and do not mold or rot.

The KAS Campus is a 100% Silver LEED School Campus, having been certified by the international green building program as an environmentally-friendly, and energy-conserving facility.
