Song Joong-ki Descendants of the Sun Jeju Air Taiwan travel

South Korean heartthrob Song Joong-ki is singing Taiwan’s praises in an airline commercial.

The star of the hit k-drama “Descendants of the Sun” was announced as the new face of Jeju Air back in April, appearing in various print, and online, offline ads.

And the budget airline’s latest promo plays like a scenario lifted straight from fan fantasy, with Song donning an airline captain’s uniform, and “flying” audiences to Taipei.

The actor narrates as the 360-degree video meanders through Taipei hotspots, including Longshan Temple, Taipei 101, and showcase Taiwan delicacies, mango shaved ice and xiao long bao.

The lowcost airline launched daily flights between Incheon International Airport and Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport earlier this month, and is capitalizing on Song’s “Descendants” popularity to boost business.
