The person who was caught on the streets of Kaohsiung during last week’s Wan-An military drill has taken to Facebook to apologize.
On an account named “The Wan-an Dino”, the man behind the mask says he turned himself in once he found out police were looking for him, and he was not hunted down by police as reported by the media.
He says he’s had a passion for dinosaurs since elementary school.
He says on the day of the drill, he saw an old lady trying to cross the street and wanted to go help her, but she ran off when she saw him coming, so he turned back.
He says it was at that point that cameras caught him, leading to his arrest.
The dino apologizes for his behavior and urges people not to copy his actions, warning that police will fine violators.
He faces up to 150 thousand NT in penalties for going outdoors during the drill.
The video was posted late last night, and has already been viewed over 200,000 times.
