Reynolds arrived on Wednesday and is scheduled to leave tomorrow, two weeks before his movie based on a Marvel Comics character opens in Taiwan theaters on February 5th.

The Hollywood star plays a former Special Forces operative-turned- mercenary after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers and adopts the alter ego Deadpool.

During the past two days while in Taipei, Reynolds has been winning over Taiwan netizens with his cheeky bilingual posts on social media as the Merc with a Mouth.

Reynolds announced that he was ready for new culinary challenges, saying “”Even though I’m a foreigner, Deadpool has an invincible spirit! I will challenge Taiwan’s stinky tofu and duck blood!”

The actor also posted a photo of himself standing in front of the iconic Taipei 101 building, with the caption “Taiwan fans, even though my Chinese is vegetable (pun for “bad”), I am definitely your dish. Bar none! (Shy) Come check out my six pack at the Jan. 21st premiere. Deadpool shall triumph! (kisses)”

The actor also had Taiwan music fans chuckling Tuesday, when he announced as his character Deadpool, that he was applying to be the lead vocalist for Taiwan metal band Chthonic.

The band’s current lead, Freddy Lim was elected as legislator during Taiwan’s national election this past Saturday.

Chthonic reposted Reynold’s announcement, with the hashtag “We can only hire him”.
