Warner Music Jolin Tsai JJ Lin Kenji Wu monkey Year End Banquet

Star power was out in full force last night for the Warner Music Year-end Banquet, with some of the biggest names contributing millions of NT as lucky draw prizes.

In anticipation of the upcoming Year of the Monkey, the theme of the night was “Rise of the Planet of Apes”. But several celebs also went with getups from Chinese novel “Journey to the West”, and recent box office blockbuster “Star Wars”.

Singer Jolin Tsai went casually dressed in a sweater and jeans, but she says she fulfills the dress code, because her zodiac sign is “monkey”.

JJ Lin was practically unrecognizable as the masked dark warrior Kylo Ren from “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”.

Singer-songwriter and actor Kenji Wu took a different approach, and brought along two large baskets of bananas to pass out to coworkers as gifts.

Warner Music prepared over $8 million NT in prize money for its employees, and several attending celebs added to the pot.

Tsai and Lin each contributed $2 million.

Jam Hsiao, who could not attend the event for work reasons, prepared $1.5 million. Wu made a last-minute donation and matched Hsiao’s.
