If you want to catch the first sunrise of 2016 on the Taiwan island, you’d better head to Kenting or Taitung.
According to the Central Weather Bureau, at 6:35 in the morning, the first sunrise of 2016 on the island will illuminate the skies of Kenting’s Longkeng (龍坑) and Taitung’s San Xiantai (三仙台).
The CWB is reminding enthusiasts to plan early to grab the best gazing spot.
Coming in second place would be Hualian’s Chongde (崇德) and Yilan’s Suao (蘇澳) with a 6:36 a.m. sunrise.
But the earliest sunrise – off the island – would be visible from Lanyu (蘭嶼) at 6:33 a.m.
And if sunsets are more your thing – then catch 2015’s last rays at 5:24 p.m. in Pingtung’s Guanshan (關山).
