Taiwanese pop diva Jody Chiang opened the first of her 25 farewell concerts in Taiwan with a love song on Saturday, at the Taipei Arena.

The songstress began wearing a regal-looking red dress before changing into several other costumes during the stage performance that included 16 dancers.

Around 250,000 people are expected to attend Chiang’s 25 farewell concerts between July 25th and September 13th at the Taipei Arena and Kaohsiung Arena.

The 53-year-old Chiang unexpectedly announced on January 2nd that she was ending her singing career this year with 16 farewell concerts, setting off a rush for tickets.

To cater to upset fans, Chiang announced on January 16th  that she would hold an additional nine concerts at Taipei Arena and Kaohsiung Arena.
