Four Taiwanese restaurants will join some 1-thousand 300 French restaurants worldwide in serving special gourmet menus on  March 19 to honor French cuisine.

The French Office in Taipei says the local restaurants will participate in the international campaign “Good France,”  set up by the French government to  celebrate French gastronomy in various locations worldwide on the same  day.

The Office says it is going to be a pleasant encounter between Taiwanese and  French cuisine.

Selected from restaurants in 150 countries across five continents, the four restaurants include two in Taipei city, “Paris 1930” and “STAY”, and “Le Mout” in Tai-zhong, as well as “A Table” in Tai-nan.

The event is meant to celebrate French cuisine’s listing in the “Intangible  Cultural Heritage of Humanity” category by UNESCO in 2010.
