Throughout the month of January, ICRT listeners can enjoy a special edition of Asia Pop 40, which will be counting down the most popular 150 songs from 2014 over five week installments.

The program, called Asia Pop 150, will count down the top 150 songs on the Asia Pop 40 chart during 2014 based purely on their ranking in the chart and the number of weeks they appeared.

Asia Pop 150 will air on ICRT every Saturday in January at 9 am until 12 pm and reruns on Thursday nights at midnight until 3 am Friday morning.

Some interesting Asia Pop 150 Statistics:

  • 16 different songs took out the No. 1 position in 2014.
  • Ed Sheeran achieved the most number of songs in the Asia Pop 150 with six tracks.
  • 42 tracks were collaborations.
  • The longest single stayed in the chart for 46 weeks.
  • Sia Furler wrote four songs in the chart yet only one of them is credited as hers.
  • 67 songs were by artists from North America; 23 by artists from the U.K.; 11 songs from Australasia, including one from New Zealand (Lorde).
  • Eight songs were by artists from Europe, all of which are of the EDM genre.

In addition to the top 150 songs of the past year, Asia Pop 150 will also air interviews with artists including Charli XCX, Blush, Buck 22, Jolin Tsai, INXS, Sheppard, Samantha Jade, Nick Celino, Guy Sebastian and others, as well as highlights of the year.

Asia Pop 40 is the first regional weekly chart countdown radio show produced in Asia specifically for Asian radio and is hosted by Dom Lau. It counts down the most popular downloads on iTunes across Asia.
