International clothing brand H&M has finally confirmed its flagship store in Taipei will open in February next year.

The 2,900 square feet three-storied building will be located at Breeze Song Gao near Taipei City Hall MRT Station. Besides offering men’s, women’s and children’s clothing, the flagship store will also feature H&M Home, a home decor section.

The Swedish company often collaborates with designers on its collections, having worked with Karl Lagerfield, Stella McCartney, Jimmy Choo, Trish Summerville and most recently Taiwanese-American designer Alexander Wang, whose collection sold out almost immediately.

The company’s CEO Karl Johan-Persson has said that he is very happy that the company can establish a store in Taiwan, where the market has potential.

H&M’s Greater China and South East Asia Manager Magnus Olsson says February is a significant time for both H&M and Taiwan, as the company will be bringing a collection of 180 designers to the island as well as a high quality shopping experience.

H&M is the fourth international clothing brand to enter the Taiwan market, following Japan’s UNIQLO, Spain’s ZARA and the United States’ GAP.
