As with all my other grand and elaborate plans, Halloween prep has gone from an extensive project involving sewing, arts and crafts, and make-up, to….whatever I have laying around the house.

If you’ve procrastinated your way onto that same boat, here’s a ranking of the top 5 quick and clever costumes that you can throw together pretty much last minute.

1. STATIC CLING:

Stick some dryer sheets and clothing to your clothes, and voila!

2. 50 SHADES OF GRAY:

Get some gray paint chips from your local hardware store, paint shop, or B&Q. Stick them on your clothes, and boom, you’re 50 Shades of Gray.

(If you can’t get your hands on actual paint chips,  you can just print out grey blocks on your printer!)

3. NIGHT IN:

Maybe this is actually what you’d rather be doing on the night of, but at least this costume will get you pretty darn close!

Just wear your comfy sweatpants and hang-around-the-house tee, accessorize with a bag of popcorn, fuzzy slippers, or your favourite blanky.

This costume gets MAJOR bonus points for being comfortable.

4. BULLETIN BOARD:

Cover yourself with sticky notes, and just wear neutral-colored clothing underneath.

5. MAX, FROM WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE:

Throw on your grey or white sweatpants and hoodie, then add a yellow paper crown to your head. If you’re going with a significant other, your bff, or a group of friends, they can be the monsters!
