The British Trade and Cultural Office today launched the “GREAT Taste of Britain” campaign to both promote and showcase the best of British food and culture in Taiwan.

The campaign covers various aspects of the food and drink sector and sees collaboration with many restaurants, companies and businesses.

The campaign includes a two-week in-store promotion at JASONS supermarket islandwide of UK brands, a one-week promotion of British whisky, beer and spirits at Cheers at the Grand Hyatt and a one-month long promotion of British afternoon tea at the Wedgwood Tea Room at Sogo Fuxing.

The office is also working with the annual European Education Fair, presenting culinary and hospitality education, as well as TLC Channel on an episode of “Kitchen Cook-off” to be aired in December, which will feature British gourmet flavours from Taiwanese chefs Joel & Soac.

At the press conference featuring trademark British dishes fish and chips, beef Wellington and scones with Devonshire cream and preserves, I spoke with the Director of the Office, Chris Wood.
