Health officials are warning of the dangers of fat-rich diets and lack of exercise following revelations  a 9-year-old boy recently suffered a stroke due to a diet of fast food.

According to a doctor at the Xiuchuan Hospital in Changhua County, the boy lived largely on a diet of fried chicken and French fries and spent most of his time playing computer games, and rarely exercising.

The boy was hospitalized after complaining of dizzy spell and vomiting.

Doctors found an artery in the boy’s left brain was blocked by a blood clot, and prescribed anti-clot drugs for him.
He is now undergoing six months rehabilitation.

Health officials are warning the case shows strokes not only affect adults, but can happen to children who have a fat-rich diets and do not exercise.
