The Sports Federation says it is set to hold a world record breaking foot-washing event in October, with the aim of smashing the world record it set last year.

According to the federation, thousands of people are expected to gather on October 12th in front of the Presidential Office, where they will wash the feet of their parents, grandparents and senior citizens.

The event falls on the eve of Senior Citizens Day, and organizers say it is aimed at promoting filial piety.

Last year’s event set a Guinness World Record – with 4,363 pairs of feet being washed at the same time.
