The 2014 Comic Exhibition in Taipei drew over 100,000 visitors on its first day yesterday, the event’s largest ever opening-day crowd in its 15-year history.

According to the Chinese Animation and Comic Publishers Association, some 101,000 people visited the exhibition at Taipei World Trade Center.

Some 70 publishers are displaying products at 530 booths at the exhibition this year, a 20 percent increase from last year.

Organizers estimate that 600,000 people will visit the six-day event, up from 582,000 in 2013 (pictured here).
