It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a birthday boy or girl at ICRT must be in want of balloons. According to ICRT folklore, the long-standing tradition originated with the arrival of newscaster Nancy Sun, who on September 26th, 2013, surprised her fellow newscaster and cubicle inhabitant Eric Gau with pink heart balloons all around his cubicle.

As part of this tradition, I worked out of a balloon cave for my birthday earlier in May, and the same balloons were recycled for General Manager Tim Berge’s birthday the day after mine.

For the first official post under “Office Shenanigans” – a category created solely to document the cute, funny, and most of the time plain embarrassing activities we get up to at the ICRT office – I thought I’d share Nancy and my creations for June babies Joey and Keith, born on the 2nd and 10th of the month respectively.
