Those needing a pick-me-up after this week’s cold and rainy weather should check out Carnaval Taipei.

Organized by Latino Taiwan and ICRT, the Saturday event at the Taipei Flora Expo Park is the largest Latinoamerican and Carribean festival in Taiwan.

Visitors can sip gourmet coffee and sample authentic cuisine, or taste international award-winning chocolate from Ecuador.

There will also be more than 20 onstage performances of Latin dance, or festival-goers can join in the dancing themselves with traditional Samba dancers weaving through the crowds.

And World Cup fans can cheer on the young athletes from Central America, South America, the Carribean, and Taiwan, as they compete in the first ever Mini Copa soccer championship.

The festivities begin at 11am and last until 7pm, with admission free for all.
