Pop diva Jolin Tsai gave her perspective on the difficulties of coming out, in a video introduction for an LGBT talk show.
According to the Apple Daily, producers of the online program approached the singer, songwriter, and entrepreneur, and were pleasantly surprised that she immediately agreed.
The 36-year-old star spoke about the complicated emotions that a person may feel when considering being open about their sexual orientation.
The “Play” singer says “coming out is always a difficult situation for LGBT persons, because they struggle with their own decision and the effect that their coming out may have on their family and friends”.
Tsai has expressed support for the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender movement in various ways over the years, with her 2014 “Play” album featuring the song “We’re All Different, Yet the Same”, promoting marriage equality and the right to love.
