Taiwan actress and model Shu Qi made a bombshell of an announcement this past weekend, revealing her simple and ultra-secret marriage to Hong Kong-based actor and director Stephen Fung (video below).
The couple, both in their 40’s, met in 1997 on the set of the film “Bishonen”, and while there were rumors of romance, the two went on to have relationships with other stars.
This Saturday, the two released a statement, confirming their nuptials, explaining that the decision to marry was a sudden one, but also stating that they were NOT expecting a child.
The statement also confirmed that the two have been dating for 4 years, and there won’t be a wedding banquet or party.
Both the nuptials and wedding photo shoot reportedly took place in Prague, where the star couple is on location filming scenes for “The Adventurer”, also starring Jean Reno and Andy Lau.
According to the Apple Daily, Shu’s wedding gown was a gift given two years ago by fast fashion retailer H&M, from its Conscious Exclusive line, featuring earth-conscious materials.
The bride’s veil, her pink dress, and all of Fung’s clothing was purchased from a roadside shop in Prague two days before the photo shoot.
