The 6th annual Taiwan International Hot Air Balloon Festival is now in full swing at LuYe Gaotai in Taitung County.
The festival runs through August 7th, featuring hot air balloons from Taiwan and around the world.
Sky Rainbow Airlines is the only registered hot air balloon operator in Taiwan, and pilot Lin Yuan-ting says ballooning in Taiwan is unlike anywhere else in the world.
He says the hot air balloons operate in the Eastern Rift Valley, providing breathtaking scenery of valleys, mountains, and even the sea.
Visitors can pay 9,000 NT per person for a 40-minute balloon ride to enjoy the beauty of the landscape, or 500 NT per person for a Balloon Tethering Ride.
There are six night glow concerts on different dates at different venues as well.
