Alternative rock band Mayday has reached out to lend some comfort to a victim of the Feb. 6th earthquake in southern Taiwan.
Liu Yichen, whose husband, two young sons, and 10-day old daughter were all killed in the Weiguan apartment complex collapse in Tainan left a message on Mayday lead singer Ashin’s Facebook page yesterday.
Liu explained that Mayday was her sons’ favorite band, and went on to ask if the band could please send her a signed album, for her children to enjoy in the afterlife.
Netizens quickly tookup her cause, reposting and sharing Liu’s request on social media, and sending her messages of support.
The band’s record company B’in stated at noon today, that they are now in touch with Liu and will work to fulfill these wishes.
Liu has since added a new posting on social media, confirming that she has received a signed Mayday album, and thanking everyone for their support.
