An American news website has listed Taiwan as one of its 12 emerging travel destinations for 2016.
Business Insider points to Taiwan’s lush mountain scenery, spring cherry blossoms, and famed nightmarkets as a part of its charm.
The website also lauded Taiwan as a progressive nation, where “beliefs and cultures co-exist in harmony”.
Business Insider cites a rise in eco-tourism, conservation and an undercurrent of change ahead of the presidential election as reasons why Taiwan is a “must-see” for 2016.
Other hotspots on the list include Mongolia, Alaska, Madagascar, and Kyrgyzstan.
