The Pingdong County government says it plans to set a new Guinness World Record for the largest number of people playing the yue-qin and singing ballads on October 17th.

According to the county government, some 400 people have so far confirmed their participation in the event, leaving another 600 places to be filled.

The event will be part of the 2015 Hengchun Folk Music Festival – which begins on October 9th.
