Organizers of the 2015 Comic Exhibition say this year’s event will feature appearances by 50 graphic artists, authors, voice actors and animation producers from Taiwan and Japan.

According to the Chinese Animation and Comic Publishers Association, the artists will hold 34 book-signings and other events at the fair, when it opens Thursday.

A Japanese pavilion will be featured at the exhibition for the first time and showcase performances by Japanese idol groups and anime singers and exhibitions of popular Japanese cartoon and anime figures.

Over 70 publishers will set up 610 booths at the annual fair, a 15 percent increase from last year and organizers estimate that visitor numbers will also see an increase this year.

Last year’s event attracted 601,000 visitors and generated some 260 million N-T in sales.

The 2015 Comic Exhibition runs through August 11th at the Taipei World Trade Center Exhibition Hall 1.
