The National Theater and Concert Hall in Taipei began a four-month temporary closure yesterday for renovation after 28 years of service.

According to the concert hall’s management, the renovation will be underway until Sept. 30.

Chairs, sound-proof doors and wooden floors will be replaced to provide a more comfortable environment for both the audience in attendance and the musicians.

The renovation is part of the National Performing Arts Center’s rejuvenation project, which also includes work to renovate the National Theater in the same complex next year.

During the renovation, two stores in the concert hall will still be open and the online ticketing system will remain up and running as usual.

The concert hall will reopen in October.
