Celebrities in Taiwan took to social media sites Wednesday to pray for the victims of the deadly TransAsia Airways plane crash that had left at least 31 passengers and crew dead.

Pop diva A-mei expressed her hope on her Facebook page, that “everyone can be safely rescued and the injured are safe”.

Singer Jolin Tsai and singer actress Barbie Hsu also posted messages on their Facebook pages in reaction to the tragedy.

Other celebrities who offered condolences to the victims and their families include Amber Kuo, Cheryl Yang, Ruby Lin, and Shu Qi.

The aircraft, which was carrying five crew members and 53 passengers, including 31 Chinese tourists, crashed shortly after taking off from Taipei’s Songshan Airport at 10:52 a.m. Wednesday en route to Kinmen.

Rescue efforts are ongoing.
