The Taipei International Book Exhibition will offer free admission to visitors under the age of 18 for the first time this year to encourage reading among young people.
Organizers say they just need to show their national ID cards or other identifying documents at the gates of Taipei World Trade Center Hall one and three to get admitted.
The book fair, which kicks off on Feb. 11th and runs through Feb. 16th, will feature New Zealand at the theme pavilion and invite Eleanor Catton, the New Zealand author of 2013 Man Booker Prize winner for “The Luminaries,” to meet with fans and sign autographs.
The Man Booker Prize for fiction is a literary prize awarded each year for the best original novel, written in the English language, and published in the UK.
The fair will also include a graphic novel section for the first time that showcases graphic novels from Taiwan, New Zealand, France, Germany and other countries.
