Episode Description

For more than a decade, animal welfare group Animals Taiwan  has been on the front lines of efforts to provide care for Taiwan’s stray and neglected animals with its Taipei based rescue center, which at any given time houses and cares for as many as 80 cats and dogs.

But the group is facing a bit of a transition now: Organizers say the land for the shelter has been repossessed for a government project, and they’ll have to locate to a new site and complete the relocation of all of their facilities and animals within the year.

So on the show today we’re going to make a trip over to the shelter to learn a little bit more about its work, and why it is that such shelters are needed in Taiwan in the first place.

Guests: Animal Taiwan’s Chairperson, Liza Milne, and full time staffer WingYi Kwok.
