Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels take the spotlight in this year’s long-awaited sequel to “Dumb and Dumber,” but what viewers may miss in the comedy feature is the presence of art glass from Taiwan’s liuli, or crystal glass, workshop.

Two pieces by New Taipei-based Liuligongfang show up as decorative art pieces in “Dumb and Dumber To,” which premiered in the U.S. last month and hits Taiwan cinemas this Friday.

The studio says the art director for “Dumb and Dumber To,” praised Liuligongfang’s works for showing a modernity with unique creativity, making them a good match for sets at luxurious homes or five-star hotels.

Pieces from the studio were selected as gifts at the Academy Awards in 2001 and 2012, and at the Emmy Awards, going to A-listers such as actress Julia Roberts, and director Ang Lee.

Liuligongfang, established in 1987, is Taiwan’s only contemporary glass studio devoted to liuli artwork.
