The Chinatrust Charity Foundation’s “Light Up a Life” campaign, which ICRT was instrumental in founding, is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year.

The campaign aims to raise NT$100 million this year to help provide meal for children in remote areas.

According to Jeffrey Koo Jr., who hosted a fundraising event last week, some 120,000 school children island wide can not afford to have breakfast or lunch every day.

Koo said although the foundation has donated NT$2 million for feeding 770 hungry children, many more still need help.

He called on people to donate money for the cause, saying the funds will also help baseball teams in remote schools.

The three-month campaign will run until March 3, 2015.
