Besides visiting Taiwan for the first time next January for a concert, English rock band Bastille has been the gift that keeps giving this Christmas season.

Most Bastille fans may have already heard “Torn Apart”, the first song from the band’s third and upcoming mixtape VS. (Other People’s Heartache, Pt. III), which was released a few weeks ago featuring Grades and Lizzo.

Today, Bastille released “Bite Down”, yet another track from the mixtape that – much to my excitement – features HAIM, a band comprising of three sisters from Los Angeles.

The song is a fantastic fusion of the bands’ respective styles, opening with a “hey” that calls back to the intro of HAIM’s “Falling” from their debut album, Days Are Gone, released in 2013, and harmonizes the vocals of Bastille frontman Dan Smith and Este, Danielle and Alana Haim.

Bastille’s third mixtape will feature only original content, unlike OPH Pt. I and Pt. II, which featured a combination of original songs, covers and mash-ups. Among the best-known are “Of the Night“, a mash-up of Corona’s “The Rhythm of the Night” and Snap!’s “Rhythm Is a Dancer” and “No Angels“, which mixes TLC’s “No Scrubs” with the xx’s “No Angels”.

VS. (Other People’s Heartache, Pt. III) will feature artists such as Gemma Sharples Quartet, MNEk, Tyde, Rationale, Angel Haze, F*U*G*Z, Braque, Rag N Bone Man and Skunk Anansie and is scheduled to be released on December 8, 2014.
