Episode Description

On this episode, we speak to the organizer of the the Literature Award for Migrants, Chang Cheng, about the competition he organized to help gain exposure for the literary abilities of Taiwan’s Southeast Asian population.

The award, which wrapped up last month, invited literary submissions in Vietnamese, Thai, Indonesian and Tagalog.

During our conversation we learn a little bit about what these writers had to say.

You can get more info about the award at it’s website here, or on their Facebook page, here.

If you’d like to read the Chinese translation’s of the winning submissions, you can find that here. Links to each submission are at the top left of the screen.

Today’s guest requested to do the interview in Chinese, so this show is co-hosted with ICRT’s DJ Joey C, who helps us out with interpretation.
