It’s been nine years since the first Sin City film was released, but finally the movie sequel to Frank Miller’s classic crime-thriller comic is nearly upon us. The first Sin City film stayed true to Miller’s style, and this film has kept up with the look and feel wonderfully. I really enjoyed the first film for its grittiness and stylized look, and I’m really looking forward to A Dame to Kill For for the same reasons. It’s very reminiscent to old film noir flicks, which I quite like.
This film is based on Miller’s second book as well as a story from the sixth book. Miller also wrote two additional stories specifically for the new movie.
A Dame to Kill will feature returning cast members Jessica Alba, Rosario Dawson, Mickey Rourke, Clive Owen, and Bruce Willis. Newcomers to the series include Eva Green, Josh Brolin, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Lady Gaga just to name a few.
Sin City: A Dame to Kill For is slated to hit theaters on August 22nd.
