Actress Angelina Jolie has expressed her admiration for the works of Taiwanese director Ang Lee.

While promoting her latest fantasy film Maleficent in Shanghai, Jolie told the Associated Press she admires the work of Ang Lee and hopes to work with Chinese talent.

“I’m not sure if you consider Ang Lee Chinese, he’s Taiwanese but he does many Chinese-language films with many Chinese artists and actors, and I think his work and the actors in his films are the ones I’m most familiar with and are very fond of,” she said.

Jolie was accompanied by her husband Brad Pitt and three of their children.

Lee, a two-time Oscar-winning director, expressed interest last year in helming a film that is likely to star Jolie as the Egyptian queen Cleopatra.
