More stills from Woody Allen’s next film Magic in the Moonlight starring two of my favourite actors, Colin Firth and Emma Stone, have been released, and they – both the stills and the actors – look perfect.

I’m really liking the direction of Allen’s more recent films – although Annie Hall will always be a classic – including Vicky Cristina Barcelona, Midnight in Paris and Blue Jasmine to name a few. Needless to say, I’m really looking forward this film. Colin Firth has always held a special place in my heart after he won it over as Mr. Darcy in the 1995 BBC mini-series Pride and Prejudice, and Emma Stone is fast becoming one of my favourite actresses and people on the planet. Case in point: Her lip sync battle with Jimmy Fallon. Put them together in a Woody Allen film, and you have Magic in the Moonlight (pun fully intended).

The official synopsis of the film reads: “A romantic comedy about an Englishman brought in to help unmask a possible swindle. Personal and professional complications ensue.” Magic in the Moonlight also stars Hamish Linklater, Marcia Gay Hayden, Eileen Atkins and Oscar-nominee Jacki Weaver. And somehow the first trailer entirely slipped my notice when it was released in May, so here it is for your viewing pleasure.
