Celebrities and on-air personalities have been taking to social media to express their grief and outrage at the brutal murder of a 4-year-old girl earlier today.
Host and entertainer Jacky Wu placed blame for the violence on the families of the perpetrators, angrily calling for the family of the 33-year-old suspect to be sent to jail as well.
Posting his comments on Facebook, Wu says there is no way the family could have been unaware of whatever issues the suspects has.
He added that the family of MRT attacker Cheng Jie would understand this logic, referring to the university student’s stabbing spree on the Taipei metro system in 2014, that left 4 people dead.
Veteran news anchor Shen Chunhwa lamented that all the fury on the part of adults could not protect the children who will one day inherit Taiwan.
Actress and host June Tsai, who is currently pregnant with her second child, said she can’t imagine how much more parents can do to protect their children.
She says so many parents are already constantly at the side of their children, and yet this type of horrific violence still occurs.
Several other celebs have also expressed shock and sadness over the incident, with some indicating that they live nearby or had just passed through the area earlier in the day.
The investigation into the case and the 33-year-old suspect is still ongoing.
