The 2015 Kaohsiung Design Festival kicked off today at the city’s Pier-2 Art Center, with nearly 100 designers from 22 countries showcasing their work on “wild” themes.
The organizers said they hope design energy will permeate the southern Taiwan port city in step with the displays and activities during the festival that will run until Nov. 22.
Designs on three major themes – wild display, wild fun at Pier-2, and wild fun in the city – will be exhibited at three warehouses at the art center.
Forums and workshops will also be held to explore the relationship between the designers and the general public, and the ideas of freedom and disobedience.
